The body of work called “The dying world” created for the Macleah Valley fashion show (2024) was intended to raise awareness for the environmental challenges facing our world. Recognising the significant environmental impact of the fashion industry, Anne utilised opshop fabrics, old curtains, and deadstock fabric to design jackets and garments showing the narrative of our rapidly deteriorating planet. Through the depiction of dying nature, bushfires, and wilting potted plants appliquéd onto the jackets, she aimed to evoke discomfort in the viewer and prompt them to make more mindful choices when purchasing clothing.
In this “The dying world” collection, she demonstrated a diverse range of techniques, using natural plant dyed wool, as well as showcasing patchwork and appliqué methods.
